The Quality Standards Group considers the recommendations of the UK NARIC Advisory Council; and needs analyses and suggestions of the Core Service Monitoring Group, with a view to advising and supporting UK NARIC in developing required models and systems surrounding and serving recognition of qualifications and skills in key areas, including: a) contributing towards managed migration; b) supporting professional mobility and contributing to professional and sectoral skills analyses; c) increasing the rigour of depth of UK NARIC information; and d) developing an integrated model linking recognition of international qualifications and accreditation.
The work of the Quality Standards Group focuses on the following aspects:
- To consider the current service provision with the view to identifying development needs
- To assist UK NARIC in developing new models of practice that will widen the application of UK NARIC methodology to varying stakeholders
- Advising, agreeing and promoting conceptualised models of practice used by UK NARIC
- Advising on potential areas of further service and product development
- New policy initiatives and their effect on UK NARIC service provision
- Reviewing the outcomes of the UK NARIC Core Service Monitoring Group and providing second opinions on decisions where appropriate
The Quality Standards Group meets twice a year and reports on its recommendations to the UK NARIC Advisory Council which is responsible for the overall strategy and direction of the NARIC function, providing professional advice and guidance.

Secretarial support is provided by the UK NARIC which is responsible for organising meetings, agendas, related papers and records of meetings.
